Artist and photographer, Robert Sturman, has become a huge inspiration to me as a fellow yogi and a photographer over the past few months. He captures the expression and energy of yoga poses in breathtakingly beautiful environments. He often draws from relationships within the frame such as the yogi's form with an architectural form or perhaps the line of the body with the line of a horizon. No matter the case, his work has always been wonderfully inspiring to me.
In a world where capturing moments through photographs has become so omnipresent with cell phone cameras and digital cameras smaller than your palm, and sports photography has become such a developed field, it is a shock to realize how unexplored the world of yoga photography still is today. Perhaps artists like Robert Sturman and myself can pioneer a new movement of yoga photographers! I like to refer to our rare breed as yogatographers. (hehe)
